The Sr. Promotion cycle begins annually in January and ends in July of the following year.
JANUARY - APRIL
Potential promotion candidates meet with their site chiefs to discuss their intention to apply for promotion.
Potential candidates should contact Sr. Promotion Chair, Dr. Frances Chung.
APRIL
After consultation with Dr. Chung, candidates should declare their intent to apply by submitting their CV / Cover Letter / Candidate Information Form to promotions.anesthesia@utoronto.ca
MAY
Upon invitation from the Sr. Promotion Committee Chair, candidates should submit their promotion dossier by mid-May.
JUNE
Department Promotions Committee reviews preliminary promotions dossiers.
Candidates are notified of committee decision (to move forward or to defer).
For those moving forward, a mentor will be assigned to assist in the augmentation of the candidate's portfolio.
For those being deferred, feedback is provided.
AUGUST
Final revisions of dossiers to be submitted by candidates.
SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER
The department solicits external referee letters.
DECEMBER
The Promotion Committee conducts a final review of promotions dossiers.
JANUARY
The department submits confidential promotion dossiers and accompanying documentation to the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Decanal Promotion Committee.
FEBRUARY
Temerty Faculty of Medicine Decanal Promotion Committee reviews submissions.
MARCH - MAY
Candidates are notified of the Decanal Committee's final recommendation.
