Women and Their Allies Academic Forum

The department’s EDI and Faculty Development Committee has announced the development of the Women and Their Allies Academic Forum, a new initiative designed to foster a collaborative space for underrepresented gender groups.

Who is this for?

This initiative is for any member of the department who:

  • Identifies as a woman.
  • Identifies as a gender non-conforming person or gender under-represented in medicine.
  • Wishes to be an ally in academia and wants to learn how to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for their colleagues.

What are the forum's aims?

This forum aims to provide a platform for:

  1. Learning and Sharing: Participants will gain valuable insights into research methodologies, navigate the academic publishing process, and share best practices for success.
  2. Networking: Connect with colleagues across disciplines, build lasting professional relationships, and find mentors, sponsors, and collaborators.
  3. Building a Supportive Community: Collaborate to create a more inclusive and equitable academic environment where people who identify as women, and gender equity-seeking groups, together with their allies can thrive.
