Mass General Brigham (MGB) Department of Anesthesiology - Executive Vice Chair
Background
The Executive Vice Chair (EVC) of the Mass General Brigham (MGB) Department of Anesthesiology is a critical member of the leadership team and serves in an executive leadership role to support an integrated Anesthesiology service line across the MGB system. The incumbent leads Anesthesiology initiatives across the system, including representing the Department at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and across community/specialty hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and other affiliated MGB sites. The EVC will partner closely with the Chair, to meet our mission of ensuring the highest quality care for patients everywhere by advancing safe and innovative clinical care, pioneering research, and leading world-class education in anesthesiology. The EVC will oversee all the AMC Division Chiefs, lead MGB initiatives for the Department, and may have other oversight responsibilities and be assigned special projects.
The EVC role calls for a highly accomplished academic anesthesiologist to provide strategic leadership across the academic missions of the MGB Department of Anesthesiology. In close partnership with the Chair, the EVC will help guide the coordination and alignment of academic programs and related operational efforts across two major academic medical centers, while supporting broader integration across the system. The EVC will work collaboratively with departmental, hospital, and system leaders, as well as with MGB Institute leaders on cross-disciplinary initiatives that span education, research, faculty development, and clinical innovation. The role requires a visible and engaged presence at both academic medical centers and, as appropriate, at community and network sites.

Saskatchewan Health Authority - Area Chief of Staff, Regina
Background
SHA is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing approximately 45,000 staff. SHA is responsible for the planning and delivery of healthcare for all 1.14 million residents of the province. Operating 64 hospitals with 2,500 acute care patient beds and approximately 9,000 long term care beds, the SHA is committed to patient and family centred care through the provision of services.
The Area Chief of Staff is a key leadership role in Saskatchewan health care, partnering with system leaders to achieve the province’s health care goals. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and working closely with the Authority and Health System colleagues, the Area Chief of Staff is responsible for developing and executing strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the SHA.
This 0.4, .06 or 0.8 FTE position opportunity is for a three (3) year term, with a renewal option. The Area Chief of Staff provides strategic leadership by articulating gaps, needs and plans as part of the leadership team. The Area Chief of Staff must show leadership to ensure that there is an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture and utilize methodologies to improve effectiveness, quality and safety of health care delivery to ensure the SHA can provide optimum healthcare for the residents of Saskatchewan.

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for the position of Head, Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics at UBC. This position is for a five (5) year term with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory review. HRH's Department of Anesthesia is a diverse and vibrant group of over 40 anesthesiologists. It prides itself on fostering a supportive and collegial environment. Surgical service at HRH include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oral maxillofacial, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pediatric, plastic surgery, urology, vascular surgery. HRH operates 19 operating rooms, 5 endoscopy rooms, a labour and delivery unit with 3 operating rooms as well as a 4-bay anesthesia block room. Call coverage consists of two anesthesiologists daily for OR and OB.

Requirements
Candidates must be FRCPC anesthesiologists. No additional fellowship training is required, but additional training in pediatric, thoracic or obstetrical anesthesia would be an asset as well as skills in quality improvement and excellence in teaching medical learners.
In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, candidates require relevant certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and are a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
