The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is now accepting applications for the inaugural Vincent and Anne Chan Professorship in Faculty Leadership.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will develop a program to nurture the next generation of academic leaders in anesthesiology and pain medicine. This role focuses on promoting leadership excellence to enhance our department’s reputation, improve education quality, and advance knowledge in leadership and medical education.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing innovative leadership programs for faculty development.
- Creating coaching and mentoring initiatives to support new faculty members.
- Fostering a community of emerging leaders to drive institutional excellence.
- Revamping the 3-year faculty review process to aid in career advancement.

Professorship in Perioperative and Pain Medicine, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto
The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking applicants for the inaugural Professorship in Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto.
The successful candidate must hold or be eligible to hold a full-time clinical (MD) appointment within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The term of the Professorship position is 5 years with the opportunity for one 5-year renewal following a favourable review as per the Policy of Endowed and Limited Term Chairs, Professorships, Distinguished Scholars and Program Initiatives.
Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2024, or until filled. The position start date is March 1st, 2025, or a mutually agreed upon date.
