Background
The Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto and Unity Health Toronto – St. Michael’s Hospital are seeking applications for a Clinician Scientist in Critical Care Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital-Unity Health Toronto. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment as an Intensivist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.The tentative start date of this appointment is September 1, 2026 (negotiable).
Unity Health Toronto is home to one of the most advanced adult Critical Care programs in Canada. The program brings world-leading innovation and research to the bedside to give patients the best possible care. The St. Michael’s Medical-Surgical ICU is well known locally and internationally for its expertise in caring for patients with severe respiratory failure, including critically ill patients with sepsis, acute inflammatory disorders and other complex medical diseases. The unit also provides post-operative care for many acutely ill surgical patients. The successful candidate will be joining a legacy of world-renowned researchers in critical care with a focus on acute lung injury, ARDS, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, and multi-organ failure, among other areas of clinical focus, including neurologic, cardiac and trauma critical care.
The successful candidate will be a nationally and internationally recognized clinician-scientist with an established research program in Critical Care and a very strong track record of research activity and success. The successful applicant must hold a medical degree and FRCPC qualifications or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in Ontario (CPSO) for Adult Critical Care Medicine. Candidates will be required to have completed graduate training at the doctoral or masters level. Their research should be internationally recognized and align with the research priorities of Unity Health Toronto as a world class centre for mechanical ventilation and respiratory physiology research. A research focus on mechanical ventilation and platform clinical trial expertise and design will be prioritized.

Queen’s Health Sciences (QHS) and its affiliated teaching hospitals (Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care) invite applications for the position of Head of the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine. The successful candidate will be an accomplished academic leader, with an ability to foster excellence in clinical care, education and research. They will bring a strategic and systems-oriented mindset, capable of advocating for the department and advancing its strengths in an integrated and collaborative manner, while approaching challenges with creativity and innovation.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong record of building and sustaining partnerships across the University, hospitals, and broader provincial and community networks. They will possess exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and be adept at representing and advancing the interests of the Department, QHS, and its hospital partners. As an academic physician, the successful candidate will participate in shared clinical care service. All qualified applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent) and have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Preference will be given to candidates who hold, or are eligible for, certification in Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and who bring at least ten years of demonstrated academic, clinical and/or leadership experience. All applicants with a strong commitment to leading a cohesive and growing clinical and academic department are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine, funded by the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO). This position is to fill an upcoming vacancy within the university.

Stratford General Hospital - Anesthesiologists (full-time or part-time)

Background
Stratford General Hospital is seeking full-time or part-time Anesthesiologists, Stratford, Ontario.
Candidates must be certified, or be eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Physicians with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision.
With 6 FRCPC Anesthesiologists and 1 FM/A working at the Stratford site, the Anesthesiology Department covers the Operating Rooms, Obstetrical Services, and Preoperative work including 11,000 elective surgeries, 676 hip/knee arthroplasty surgeries, 1,200 deliveries including 350-400 C-sections (Level 2 NICU), and 300 pediatric cases per year.
Anesthesiologists at HPHA have the opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University, with professional staff members eligible to hold a University appointment.
