The Department Appointments Committee (DAC) serves in an advisory capacity to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine (DoAPM) at the University of Toronto for all matters concerning Faculty Appointments and Junior Promotions (promotion from Lecturer to Assistant Professor).
Meetings
The DAC meets quarterly, in person or virtually. A minimum of three DAC members must be present for a meeting to take place. At quarterly committee meetings, new applications will be presented and discussed followed by general committee questioning and development of a consensus recommendation to the Chair based on a majority vote. Upon satisfactory review by the DAC, the DoAPM Chair will recommend the candidate for appointment to the Faculty Academic Appointments Committee (if necessary) and to the Dean, Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
Membership
The DAC Chair is appointed by the Department Chair with input from the Executive Council. The Chair of the DAC must be a full-time clinical faculty member of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, University of Toronto, at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
