Matthew Sheppard
MD, FRCPC, BA, BSc
Dr. Matthew Sheppard (FRCPC, Anesthesia and Pain Medicine) hails from Newfoundland where he completed his undergraduate studies in French, Psychology and Medicine at Memorial University. He completed his residency program in Anesthesia at the University of Ottawa. He subsequently completed an interventional pain management fellowship and multi-disciplinary Pain Medicine residency at the University of Toronto. His pain interests include acute pain, pain in pregnancy, chronic abdominal pain, and complex medical pain conditions. He has held extensive leadership positions including sitting on the board of directors for the Canadian Medial Association, the board of directors for the CaRMS and board of directors for Provincial Association of Residents of Ontario. He is currently the Program Director for the Pain Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto. He presently works at Mount Sinai Hospital in anesthesia and of course, acute, chronic and obstetric pain.
