Lynsey Downing

Dr Lynsey Downing is a Staff Pediatric Anesthesiologist at The Hospital for Sick Children and holds an Assistant Professor rank with the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. She completed her graduate degree at Queen’s University, Belfast in 2008. Her clinical anesthesia training was undertaken in the United Kingdom, supplemented with three years of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care experience at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, Australia before completing a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto in 2021. Dr Downing has taken on leadership roles within the trauma program acting as both anesthesia trauma program liaison and anesthesia liaison for mass casualty event preparedness at the hospital level. Dr. Downing has an interest in the use of clinical simulation for both medical education and translation to clinical practice. From an educational standpoint, she spearheads the Anesthesia Fellowship Simulation Education Program at SickKids as well as being the Anesthesia lead for the Trauma Team Simulation Program.
