We also extend our thanks to Dr. Joseph Fiorellino, outgoing Assocaite Program Director. As Associate Program Director for the Anesthesia Residency Program over the last six years, Dr. Fiorellino has helped improve and strengthen the residency program, including developing strategies to better recognize excellence in teaching, supporting further implementation of the CBD curriculum, and dedicating efforts to ensure stakeholder investment in providing exceptional resident educational experiences.
Under his leadership, the program achieved sustained improvements in the learning environment, including enhanced interprofessional interactions, fewer reports of incivility, and better alignment of educational activities with program goals. These accomplishments helped foster a stronger, psychologically safe learning environment and were recognized during recent external reviews. The program has now maintained full accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for the last two reviews.
Thank you, Dr. Fiorellino, for your committment and contributions as Associate Director for the Anesthesia Residency Program. And please join us in congratulating Dr. Marseu on this well-deserved appointment!
