19th Annual Weber Memorial Lecture: Perioperative POCUS: For Everyone and Anyone?
With Dr. Josh Zimmerman, Vice Chair of Perioperative Medicine, Director of Perioperative Echocardiopgraphy, University of Utah, Department of Anesthesiology.
This lecture is held in honour of Dr. Kirk Weber, who was Chief of the Department of Anesthesia, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre from 1972 to 1990. During this time, he led the department through many exciting changes, including the development of the hospital’s first Critical Care Unit, rapid growth within the Department, and expansion of research and education activities. This enabled Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to evolve from a Veterans’ Hospital to one of Canada’s largest quaternary care trauma, orthopedic and cancer centers. Dr. Weber was a powerful and inspirational leader who was widely known for his support, humour, and encouragement. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2006.
