Research Synopsis

Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on pediatric populations at increased risk for adverse events. Her research is supported by her clinical practice as a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist and training in clinical epidemiology. Dr. Taylor’s team has investigated clinical outcomes for cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, renal transplantation and single ventricle circulations. They have provided data for cardiac output measuring devices and are now investigating enhancement of cardiac output perioperatively, modifying pharmacological and fluid therapy in cardiac and renal transplant patients.

Her resuscitation research and educational initiatives are aimed at improving practices. Dr. Taylor has published several papers on technical and nontechnical factors in resuscitation processes, resuscitation instruction methods and challenges to critical event documentation. Further work includes developing an educational program expanding leadership roles in crisis management.
