Bijan Teja
MD, PhD, MBA, FRCPC
Dr. Teja is an Assistant Professor and Staff Physician in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. His research uses mixed methodologies to optimize pharmacologic therapy in critically ill patients. He has published over 50 manuscripts in high-impact journals including AJRCCM, ICM and JAMA Internal Medicine. He is involved with leadership of large clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes for patients with sepsis and respiratory failure. He received his MD and MBA (dual degree) from Dartmouth College. He then completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Healthcare Research at the University of Toronto. He has received numerous awards for his work including the International Anesthesia Research Society Mentored Research Award and a new investigator award from the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group.
