International Women's Day 2024: The Women & Their Allies Research Forum
Research
In the spirit of International Women’s Week, the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is excited to announce a research forum for persons who identify as women, gender diverse people, and their allies.
The Women & Their Allies Research Forum is led by our department in collaboration with the Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Dr. Lisa Isaac, and the Vice-Chair of Research, Dr. Brian Cuthbertson.
We firmly believe that by embracing and valuing the diverse perspectives and ideas of people of all genders, our department can foster innovation and drive positive change in the research industry. Our vision is to establish a thriving community of researchers championing gender equity in research.
The project aims to:
Promote gender equity in research.
Create an inclusive and empowering environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences feel welcome and are encouraged to contribute to the scientific process.
Dismantle barriers to ensure that everyone, regardless of their gender identity, has equal opportunities to thrive and make significant contributions to the field of research.
We will share additional information on this project in a later announcement.
Meanwhile, to help us gauge faculty and trainee interest and requirements, we kindly request that you take a moment to complete a brief survey. Your insights and feedback will help us shape the program to best meet your needs and aspirations.
