Research Synopsis

Dr. de Ruiter’s research interests have resulted in the implementation and increased use of regional anesthesia within the peri-operative setting at SickKids. These single-shot, catheter-related techniques reduce anesthetic requirements and improve the peri-operative patient experience. He is also interested in the use of additives to improve the duration and quality of post-operative regional anesthesia. Other research involves Qi projects evaluating post operative regional anesthesia strategies .
