Research Synopsis

Dr. Punja's ongoing research interests include translational research as well as meta-analysis of grouped data. This was reflected in the implementation of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program in the general surgical program with the help of a group of individuals from various disciplines, and in a masters project in evaluating the efficacy of oral tranexamic acid in joint replacement surgery. The use of intravenous lidocaine for acute post-operative pain as well as for palliative pain control is a recent area of interest.
