Dr. Neil Goldenberg has been appointed as the inaugural recipient to the John Alchin and Hal Marryatt Early Career Professorship in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, effective January 1, 2022.
This new professorship supports the career and research activities of an early career clinician-scientist by providing non-clinical time and resources to help achieve academic success. It also furthers the mission of our department for research excellence. This professorship was made possible by the generous contribution of two distinguished University alumni, Dr. Hal Marryatt, an alum of our post-graduate anesthesia residency training program and a former faculty member at UHN and his husband, Mr. John Alchin, who completed his undergraduate studies and MBA at the University of Toronto. This gift builds on their previous remarkable generosity and legacy support, as they also established the Dr. Alan K. Laws Clinician Scientist Award in our department.
