Mandeep Singh

Dr. Mandeep Singh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto and a mid-career clinician-scientist, uniquely dual-certified in Sleep Medicine and Anesthesiology. He practices at Women's College Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network, and is Staff at the Barzakay Clinic (Sleep Disorders) within the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He completed his training at the University of Toronto and a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Singh is the Lead and Fellowship Director of the Sleep, Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine (SleAP) program. He is also a member of the Guidelines Advisory Panel of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, President of the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine, Chair of the Ambulatory Anesthesia Section of the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society, and Section Editor for Respiration and Sleep Medicine, Anesthesia & Analgesia journal. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society Career Scientist Award, a Merit Award from the University of Toronto and the SASM Presidential Scholar Award.

His current translational research interests include evaluating perioperative outcomes in patients with sleep health disruption, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), chronic insomnia and disorders of daytime hypersomnolence such as narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. Current projects include the impact of optimal sleep health on quality of life and wellness amongst health care workers, perioperative and chronic pain population; evaluation of health technology such as Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) and other tools to measure objective sleep-health data in patients with various sleep disorders in these settings.
