We are pleased to announce the creation of the Arthur Scott Medical Education Resident Leadership Award, established in honour of Dr. Arthur Scott. Dr. Scott served as the former Chair of the then Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto (1977-87). This award will acknowledge one resident each year who is registered in the Department and exhibits exceptional leadership qualities. The award aims to help the awardee contribute to medical education through their teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and program improvement. The award emphasizes the significance of leadership skills in medical education and encourages residents to cultivate and apply these skills throughout their careers as physicians and educators. The funds can be used to offset travel expenses and registration fees related to education courses, conferences, and activities that enhance their leadership and innovation abilities.
