Dr. Matteo Parotto Appointed Head of SHS-UHN’s Interdepartmental Centre for Critical Care

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine congratulates Dr. Matteo Parotto, following his appointment as the Head of the Interdepartmental Centre for Critical Care at the Sinai Health System and University Health Network.

He takes over from Dr. Niall Ferguson, who has served with distinction as Head of the Interdepartmental Centre for Critical Care for 13 years.

In this role, Dr. Parotto will work closely with UHN's Surgeon-in-Chief Dr. Thomas Forbes, UHN's Physician-in-Chief Dr. Kathryn Tinckam, and Department Head of the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management at UHN, Dr. Keyvan Karkouti.

Speaking on the announcement, Dr. Parotto expressed his enthusiasm at working with a group of caring and highly motivated professionals.

The Interdepartmental Centre for Critical Care, which comprises different highly specialized units, is focused on effective collaboration that builds on each unit’s excellence while capitalizing on commonalities that enhance the strength of critical care for our patients.
