On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine celebrated the graduation of 17 anesthesia residents at Hart House. The ceremony marked the culmination of years of dedicated effort and personal sacrifice.
Interim Dean of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Patricia Houston, commended the graduates on their achievements and underscored the importance of self-care in their professional journeys. "Take care of yourself because you can’t effectively care for others without prioritizing your well-being," she advised.
Department Chair, Dr. Beverley Orser, emphasized the graduates' ongoing connection with the anesthesia community, urging them to maintain ties and uphold the department's ethos of unity. "Remember, you're always part of our anesthesia family. We will always be stronger together," she reminded them as they embarked on their careers.
Post-graduate Program Director, Dr. Eric You-Ten, highlighted the profound impact of their roles as healthcare professionals, encouraging them to embrace their responsibilities with compassion and dedication.
Dr. Adrienne Tan delivered a well-received keynote address, and valedictorian Dr. Bradley Kaminski reflected on the highlights of their residency training, encapsulating the collective achievements of the graduating class.
