The Canadian Pain Society announced the launch of its new open access journal, the Canadian Journal of Pain. Dr. Joel Katz of the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto (Toronto General Hospital /Pain Research Unit) and Professor of Health Psychology (York University) has been appointed the journal’s inaugural Editor-in-Chief. “Thanks to the CPS Board of Directors … we’re delighted to have found a home with Taylor & Francis …” Katz said. “The new CPS journal will give our members a trustworthy, high quality outlet for their research and, at the same time, allow the journal to showcase the research of our many talented members.” Katz has assembled a world-class Editorial Board with internationally renowned pain researchers and clinicians from around the world including our own department member, Dr. Hance Clarke, Director of the Pain Research Unit at UHN. “Dr. Katz’s vision and energy will no doubt make this venture a great success,” said Director Jeffrey Mogil on behalf of the Canadian Pain Society.
