During our Annual Shields Research Day in May, we had the honour of hosting Dr. Steven Shafer, the distinguished Editor-In-Chief of the ASA Monitor, the official news publication of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He graced our department with his presence by delivering the keynote address for the 2023 Shields Day Lecture and actively participating in the event. The outcome was truly remarkable. Dr. Shafer has since remarked how deeply impressed he was by the exceptional quality of research produced by our department, especially the passion and dedication exhibited by our esteemed faculty and promising trainees.
