Mark Crawford
Dr. Crawford is a pediatric anesthesiologist who has been on staff at The Hospital for Sick Children since 1991. He served as Anesthesiologist-in-Chief from 2009 to 2019 and was the inaugural holder of the Curtis Joseph and Harold Groves Chair in Pediatric Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Dr. Crawford is a Professor of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto, a Senior Associate Scientist at the Research Institute of The Hospital for Sick Children, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He is a member of the Hospital for Sick Children’s Medical Advisory Committee. He sits on the editorial board of two major international anesthesiology journals and is a peer reviewer for several others. He is the recipient of several awards, distinctions, and grants for research in anesthesiology and pain medicine, including awards from the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society. Dr. Crawford’s research interests include outcomes research in pediatric anesthesia and the pharmacology of anesthetic agents in the pediatric population. He has authored over 75 original peer-reviewed research manuscripts, all related to the field of pediatric anesthesiology and pain medicine.
