My projects and interests surround the improvement of clinical care in the perioperative period.

My interests would include my involvement in inter professional teams that work to realize well established practices and research.  Such groups would include:  Enhanced Recovery after Surgery, Preoperative Clinic Clinical Service Team and the Cardiac Surgical Task Force.  Examples of our teams’ works would include:  delirium assessment and management in the cardiac surgical program, establishment of ERAS recommendations such as feeding and fasting peri-operatively, management of possible penicillin allergy, frailty screening in the preoperative clinic for cardiac surgery, patient reported outcomes postoperatively, and improvement of preoperative patient education
