Research Synopsis
Dr. Tousignant’s research interests surround the clinical investigation of perioperative right heart function using echocardiography, or more specifically, the investigation of longitudinal function through the application of tissue Doppler or speckle tracking. Further, Dr. Tousignant is also interested in developing echocardiographic-based investigations of the constraints of the pulmonary vascular system as they relate to right heart function in the perioperative period and the critical care areas.
