Anita Sarmah
Dr. Sarmah is a proud member of the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee. Through intense collaboration, they now have a stateāof-the-art clerkship flipped classroom model. This model has been presented nationally at the Canadian Conference in Medical Education (CCME) Vancouver 2015 and internationally at the International Association for Medical Education (AMEE) Glasgow 2015.
At the Sunnybrook Canadian Simulation Dr. Sarmah is part of a dedicated team that has innovated a second simulation day for core anesthesia clerks. Entitled Exit Sim, this simulation has been presented at an international level at International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) Ottawa 2014, AMEE 2014. Her team has successfully implemented e-learning modules to deliver required simulation content to e-module platforms. These modules were found to be far superior by our clerks as they could access them multiple times, wherever and whenever and they are fully interactive, video enriched and incorporate segmental and summative learning. Her work has also been presented at the World Congress of Anesthesiologists, Argentina 2010.
As part of the pilot ultrasound project that spear-headed the U of T undergraduate ultrasound curriculum, the program was presented internationally at AMEE Prague 2013 and 2nd World Congress Ultrasound in Medical Education, Oregon 2013. The core clerks of 2015 are the talented inaugural class!
