The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine and the Department of Surgery are pleased to invite you to Virtual Rounds hosted by Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care Medicine) and Scholar at the Centre for Health Education Scholarship, University of British Columbia and BC Children’s Hospital, Dr. Saleem Razack. The session is titled "Anti-Racist and Anti-Oppressive Practice in Academic Anesthesia and Surgery."

All faculty members, staff, and trainees are invited to attend. Registration is required.

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify the elements of anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices in academic anesthesiology and surgery.
  2. Consider the identified elements in the context of the tripartite missions of clinical care, education, and research.
  3. Reflect on potential areas of change for greater incorporation of anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices in their own contexts.
