Helen Batty Awards for Excellence and Achievement in Faculty Development
The Helen P. Batty Awards for Excellence and Achievement in Faculty Development (known as the Helen Batty Awards) were first established in 2005, to recognize excellence in faculty development programming and teaching in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
UBC Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics - Advertisement for Department Head
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for the position of Head, Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics at UBC. This position is for a five (5) year term with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory review. It is expected that the successful candidate will qualify for and be offered a full-time UBC appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with tenure. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024, or upon a date to be mutually agreed.

Chief of Anesthesia and Co-Medical Director, Surgical Program at the William Osler Health System
Working in collaboration with the Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery & Co-Medical Director of the Surgical Program, and the Clinical Program Director, and consistent with the Corporation’s mission, vision, values, and strategic
direction, the Chief of Anesthesia and Co-Medical Director of the Surgical Program is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the provision of Anesthesia services across the hospitals three sites. In this capacity, the Chief and Co-Medical Director plays a critical role in shaping and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in the perioperative environment and driving forward an ambitious quality and academics agenda.
Chief of Anesthesia and Program Co- Medical Director - North York General Hospital
The position is comprised of the Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology and Program Co-Medical Director. The Chief would work closely with the Administrative Director of Surgery, Chief of Surgery (co-Medical Director). This position reports jointly to the Vice President, Clinical Programs, Quality, Long Term Care & Chief Nursing Executive and to the Vice President, Medical and Academic Affairs, and to the Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC).

Background
HRH's Department of Anesthesia is a diverse and vibrant group of over 40 anesthesiologists. It prides itself on fostering a supportive and collegial environment. Surgical service at HRH include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oral maxillofacial, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pediatric, plastic surgery, urology, vascular surgery. HRH operates 19 operating rooms, 5 endoscopy rooms, a labour and delivery unit with 3 operating rooms as well as a 4-bay anesthesia block room. Call coverage consists of two anesthesiologists daily for OR and OB.

Requirements
Candidates must be FRCPC anesthesiologists. No additional fellowship training is required, but additional training in pediatric, thoracic or obstetrical anesthesia would be an asset as well as skills in quality improvement and excellence in teaching medical learners.
In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, candidates require relevant certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and are a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
