Dr. Sabri Soussi Receives International Collaborative Research Award to Advance Precision Medicine in Cardiogenic Shock Patients

Sabri Soussi

Congratulations to Dr. Sabri Soussi (MD, PhD, Toronto Western Hospital), whose project “Shock and acute Conditions OutcOmes Platform Consortium (ShockCO-OP)” has been selected as one of five cross-specialty initiatives to receive funding through the 2025 Université Paris Cité (UPCité) and the University of Toronto (UofT) Joint Research Award.

The award is a joint initiative between the UPCité and UofT, designed to foster collaborative, cross-institutional research partnerships that bring together leading investigators from both universities to address pressing global health challenges.

Co-led with Dr. Alastair Proudfoot (Barts Heart Centre, London, UK), ShockCO-OP is a global consortium advancing precision medicine approaches in the management of cardiogenic shock (CS). By creating a “Network of Networks” for data and biospecimen sharing, the initiative aims to accelerate discovery, standardize research protocols, and build international capacity for investigator-led research.

This award will help strengthen ShockCO-OP’s collaborative efforts and support the development of new, personalized approaches to improve outcomes for patients with cardiogenic shock.
