Department members shine at Koerner Hall for Voices Rock Canada’s 10th Anniversary Concert

Several women from the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine took the stage at Toronto’s renowned Koerner Hall on May 22 as part of a special concert celebrating 10 years of Voices Rock Canada, a Canadian charity that brings people together through music while supporting charitable initiatives.
The high-energy performance brought together four Toronto-based choir, a total of 270 singers, for an unforgettable evening featuring rock classics by Kansas, Three Dog Night, Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks. The Medicine Voices Rock group was particularily successful. “Our concert went off amazingly! We even got a standing ovation (in Koerner Hall no less),” shared Dr. Doreen Yee.
Members of the Medicine choir include female faculty and trainees from Toronto Western Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Hospital for Sick Children. The event highlighted not only the talent across the healthcare community, but also the strong sense of collaboration, creativity and connection shared by members of the department beyond the clinical setting.
