We are pleased to announce that the 39th Annual Shields Research Day will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The location is the Hart House, 7 Hart House Circle, Toronto, Ontario. Please click here for a map to the location.
The overall purpose of our Annual Shields Day event is to bring together our clinical faculty, fellows, residents and anesthesia assistants from the University-affiliated hospitals. Shields Day also aims to provide a forum for updates on, and stimulate further research into the frontiers of clinical science with regards to anesthesia and related topics (e.g., critical care management, obstetrical anesthesia, pain management, etc.). We have been growing in recent years! As such, we encourage early registration.
Registration portal will open in late March 2018.
Please also note that there is no on-site registration available.
The format will be the same as last year, ending at 3:00 p.m.
Every resident, fellow, or graduate student affiliated with the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto, is encouraged to submit one or several projects for presentation at the 39th Shields Research Day. The exact number of posters and oral presentations will depend on the total number of submissions received. All presenters are allowed multiple entries. Presenters will be informed of the format of their presentation approximately three weeks after the abstracts’ submission deadline. Note that the abstract submission deadline is Friday, March 16, 2018 @ 5.00 p.m. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
We look forward to welcoming each of you to an exciting and stimulating event!
