Chronic pain really challenges the medical model of health care: U of T experts talk about the opioid crisis

Dr. Tania DiRenna was part of the Faculty of Medicine's UofT MedTalks event, which was moderated Andre Picard - Globe and Mail reporter.  The event had pain experts from a number of different specialties come together to discuss the complexitites of pain medicine, opioid crisis, advances in research, education and critical care.  Assistant professor Judith Hunter, Family physician Abhimanyu Sud, and Associate professor Andrea Furlan were part of the group of experts that talked how their work is helping treat patients across Ontario.

Dr. DiRenna, medical director of TAPMI, talked about how the Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute (TAPMI) is helping people with chronic pain as the hub for chronic pain care in Toronto.
