Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Critical Care (SMH)

St. Michael's Hospital

St. Michael's Hospital is a tertiary care cardiac centre with a case load of 1200 heart surgeries per year with a focus on high risk and valve patients. 50 TAVI's implanted per year in a recently renovated hybrid OR. The cardiovascular fellowship is a one year program and is structured in four blocks of three months each:

  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care
  • Cardiac Anesthesia
  • Echocardiography training 
  • General anesthesia experience

Didactic programs are organized yearly and a program can be developed to meet individual educational objectives.
